I qualified as a Reflexologist in September 2012 after completing an A.B.C. accredited course with the Devon School of Reflexology. This course is recognised by the Association of Reflexologists, AOR(UK), of which I am a full member and abide by their strict code of practice and am fully insured.
Having developed a career in Television Post Production in the South East of England I was working in a fast paced problem solving environment where high stress levels and poor lifestyles were common place amongst colleagues. Starting a family and relocating to Teignmouth where my husband grew up, gave me the chance to slow down and really appreciate the impact that working in pressured environments and the effect that modern living has on people. As with many parents, my desire to find a better work life balance lead me to seek a different career direction.
I began to research opportunities that would allow me to explore my interests, skills and experiences. I was keen to apply my talent for problem solving in helping people alleviate the impacts of poor life style, diet and stress. This coupled with an interest in the human body and how it works, initially lead me to search for a qualification in anatomy and physiology and it was this that introduced me to Reflexology. I had a treatment by the course tutor and was instantly sold, better than any massage, she had managed to get to the parts no masseuse can reach and with only removing my socks and shoes... I had a great nights sleep and felt so calm for days following the treatment.
And so I signed up the following week and have never looked back. I feel so lucky to have found such a fulfilling and satisfying career that allows me to use my talents, where I can see the results of my work and where the learning never stops.
